Highlights include:
· An interesting collection of Vinaigrettes ranging from a stunning mussel shaped, rare Victorian vinaigrette, naturalistically modelled and initialled SM for S. Mordon & Co. (est. £1,000-1,500) and one by Nathaniel Mills and another in the form of a book.
· A strong selection of oriental ceramics and works of art including a 17/18th century rhino horn libation cup and a 19th century Chinese jardinière mounted on a heavily carved rosewood stand, both estimated £2,000 -3,000.
· The auction will also include an important collection from a private home, which had an interesting selection of 19th and early 20th century treen including an ink well in the form of a tramps boot, a Black Forest thermometer and a string dispenser with estimates from £30 -200. The collection also includes coins, vertu, Mary Gregory glass and other unusual pieces.
· There is also a really interesting collection of clocks included in the sale. The highlight is no doubt a Napoleon III gilt bronze figural mantle clock with an estimate of £3,000-5,000, but also a beautiful Asprey 1920s bedroom clock (est. £200-300).
· A beautiful collection of Arts & Crafts jewellery by Charles Horner, Queensway, Liberty and Murle Bennett from £60. Other interesting jewellery includes a really wonderful collection of 19th century miniature charms and some beautifully painted miniature lead figures, each of them under an inch big.
· An excellent collection of English and Irish Silver is also included in the sale with estimates ranging from £80 to £600. Also of interest is a silver and silver gilt carved coconut tea caddy.
· A good collection of Scientific Instruments from the 18th and 19th century. The instruments are predominantly telescopes and microscopes and were owned by a private collector who has collected over 100 instruments through his life. This collection will be well placed amongst other interesting instruments in the sale and include as John Fowler set of brass drawing instruments in fishy skin case from ca. 1750 which is estimated at £300-500.
· For sports fans there will be Crystal Palace football signed by Ian Wright and Mark Bright in 1991 (est £100-150). Grand Prix fans will be interested in Martin Brundle's Formula One suit (est £100-150) and gloves (est £50-100) from 1995.
· While we commemorate World War II, an unusual gold enamel cross in its original box may be of interest. It was brought back from Germany by a UK serviceman from Germany – it had been given to mothers of eight children during the war on Hitler's birthday. There are also an interesting collection of WW2 medals with all the
original documentation.

Catherine Southon, well-known through various BBC Antiques programmes, says: “I am very excited about my July sale as I managed to include so many lovely, private collections. I am particularly thrilled that one of them takes me back to my original area of expertise – the scientific instruments collection includes some great examples of 18th and 19th century instruments. Having opened my new office at the Ripley Arts Centre in Bromley has proved to be a real success already as the regular valuation days seem very popular with the local residents.”

A catalogue will be available from the end of June and the sale can be viewed on 15th & 16th July at The Chateau, Coombe Lane, Shirley, Surrey CR0 5RE.
