FRIDAY 9TH MAY – SUNDAY 11TH MAY 2014

We are pleased to offer two residential Architectural Glass Workshops, each designed to foster individual adventure in experimental expression.

These Workshops will be hosted by four of Britain’s leading architectural glass artists, and are suitable for students, graduates and interested artists, with or without prior experience.

The Workshops will address two areas of creative expression in contemporary glass design for architecture.  One Workshop will be led by Amber Hiscott and Catrin Jones, and will focus on expressive watercolour painting, drawing and collage, and the relevance of imagery in glass for contemporary architecture.  The second Workshop will be led by Chris Bird-Jones and David Pearl, and will concentrate on experiments in colour, light and projection as means of expression in the built environment.

The Workshops will involve working on paper, experimentation and the use of model-making, to understand architectural scale and space.  There will be illustrated talks, plus individual and group feedback throughout the sessions. The two groups will be encouraged to share experiences and ideas in a creative environment in an inspiring rural location.

The Workshops will be held in a large, traditional Gower farmhouse, set in 35 acres of woodland, pasture and flower meadow, with a large private lake. The original house dates back to the 17th Century and, in the last seven years, it has been expanded and modernised into a comfortable and spacious abode.

Accommodation will be on a room-sharing basis.  Buffet breakfast, snacks and evening meals on Friday and Saturday will be provided. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the daily sessions.  If you prefer not to share rooms, alternative Bed and Breakfast facilities are available close by. Limited camping space is available.

Fees: Full residential 350 GBP per person. Camping or non residential: 300GBP
Places are limited to eight per Workshop.  Participants are advised to book early.
