Together with a nice cahier with stitched pages Laurent Subra, director of the Musée/Centre d’Art du verre, sent a letter saying: “In 2009, the Association of local authorities of Carmausin introduced the implementation of artists’ residences in the workshop of the Museum/Center of Art Glass, so marking its wish to support contemporary artists who work with glass.

With the success of this initiative, in particular with the creation of unique works having integrated the collection of the museum, we considered it important to leave a track of the passage of every artist by dedicating to them a book of residence.
This edition is being renewed every year. It is at the same time a log book and a testimony about the continuation of the work.”

This cahier Déambulations #1 – Alain Declerq, Niek van de Steeg, Peter Keene, Piet So, Vincent Chagnon and Anne Donzé – is a well-made notebook on these artists in residence at the Centre d’Art du verre in Carmaux, France. With good, page large photos, essays by Manuel Fadat, historian and art critic; Jackie-Ruth Meyer, Director of the Centre d’art LE LAIT and the participating artists, the texts describe the different visions, techniques and processes and cries out for a translation in English in future to reach a larger audience.
