Explore the true nature and the potential of glass, and develop your skills. The Glass Furnace provides an environment that allows and encourages creativity with education programs at all levels; for those who are new to the art of glass and those who have worked with glass before.
The programs cover instruction on theory, techniques, and materials on bead making, glassblowing, fusing and enamelling, metal and jewellery workshops. Most courses offered are intensive two-week courses, however, there are also courses of longer durations. Most classes provide introduction to various techniques. Instructors with international teaching backgrounds give all of the classes. The aim is to equip the students with basic skills necessary for working with glass, as well as to develop their aesthetic sensibilities.

WORKSHOP Bertil Vallien
A 3-day sand casting workshop with Bertil Vallien whose name has come to be inextricably linked with the term sand casting. The course will be an introduction to sand casting and he will convey his knowledge in open face sand casting. An artistic background in glass is not necessary. Different techniques and artistic possibilities will be discussed and practiced.

It will be a once in a lifetime experience to watch Sand Casting Master Bertil Vallien perform his magic at the hot shop.
And we will have a chance to listen his journey through glass from Kosta Boda to Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
