SPRINKLING, DRAWING, FUSING GLASS
Written in English, in the preface Kristine Damgaard explains that the purpose of this book is to inspire happy glass creators to make the most out of the creative process, which occurs during working with glass. Her playing with the possibilities is the first thing you will notice when you open this book. Photos organized by Figurines, Dishes and Bowls are accompanied by written pages like Glass as a material. Glass is indeed a mix of hobby, therapy, immersion and art here. Photos of glass houses, candlelight houses, glass pictures, furniture and items for everyday use are followed by the process of working, explanation of materials and accessories and tools.
As co-founder of Glasforeningen (The Glass Union) for practitioners of cold working and processing glass techniques, Damgaard is trained in adult education, has an academic degree in Danish and Scandinavian literature and majored as a trained psychotherapist and taught kiln-formed glass at evening classes.
Have fun!
