OPEN HOUSE


On July 14, 2013, Pilchuck Glass School will open its private Stanwood campus for an exclusive Pilchuck summer experience. Founded in 1971 by Dale Chihuly and Anne and John Hauberg, the school offers an in-depth education in glass and attracts artists from all over the world. The Pilchuck Open House provides the general public with a once-a-year opportunity to visit the campus and see inside the exciting world of glass making. Hot glass demonstrations will take place throughout the day and visitors can make their own glass. Off the beaten path tour highlights include the Chihuly Cabin, Buster Simpson’s tree house and the Trojan Horse, ending at Inspiration Point with a breathtaking view of Puget Sound. Docent led tours are also available. Art work is for sale at the Pilchuck Gallery. Enjoy this family-friendly event with live music and food concessions.

GENERAL ADMISSION
$20, per person
$10, children 6-12
Free, children 5 and under

ADMISSION + OFF THE BEATEN PATH TOUR
$35 (space is limited, per-registration is required).
This tour includes a moderate hike and is recommended for fully ambulatory participants

TOUR TIMES: 12:30 - 2:00 pm; 1:30 - 3:00 pm; 2:30 - 4:00 pm
HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES
Hands-on activities are available on a first come first served basis. Fees and donations will be collected at each respective activity's location. To learn more about requirements for the glassblowing activity, please email reservations@pilchuck.com.
Glassblowing: Create your own paperweight. $80 each. Participants must be 14 or older. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign the liability waiver. Closed toed shoes required.
Glass Etching: Create your own etched design on glass. $10 suggested donation, per plate.
Print Making: Create your own print using glass. $5 suggested donation, per print.
