PAST GLORY
-The Abandoned, Decayed and Forgotten


JAhNoszh [Jan Stel, Purmerend-NL] started taking pictures since his teenage years, visually exploring lives moments. The old Nikon camera and lens gear from his dad made him even more interested to capture natural light and specific moments. After the graphic academy he has done a follow-up course in photography.
Before the interest in photography he was busy spraying full color graffiti, drawing and illustrating. His photography does not contain the use of HDRI [software], instead photoshop is used to brush the large amount of photographed brackets into a sort of light painting. The works are toned to extend the atmosphere of the abandonment.

For more than 10 years now JAhNoszh is restoring the lost glory in honor, his photography is almost a documentation for abandoned industrial ruins, forgotten buildings, outdated transport and everything else that has an interesting story or past to tell. Behind weathered walls and forbidden doors he reveals the wonderful testimonies of a long and forgotten history. Showing the beauty what most people at first sight experience as ugly and lost. It's truly amazing to explore this fascinating atmosphere of a lonesome and desolated world full of live.
