ÉCLATS!

-Le musée se met au verre contemporain

Catalogue to the exposition «ÉCLATS! Le musée se met au verre contemporain» from 15 October 2011 to 4 March 2012. In Éclats! (Fragments!) the Musée Würth showed contemporary glass art. The works by some of the artists represented are emblematic of Studio Glass both from a technical and from a rhetorical (Harvey Littleton) point of view, or, for the generation of their creators, like Václav Cigler, Jaroslavá Brychtová, Stanislav Libenský or Clifford Rainey.

Written in French with a Foreword by Marie-France Bertrand, director Musée Würth France Erstein. She explains the collection and the interior and refers to the parallel exposition at that time in Turnhout, Belgium: Fragile. Le verre contemporain européen dans la Collection Würth et prêts (Contemporary European glass of the Collection Würth and loans). Bettina Tschumi, historic in art and conservation of the collection art glass from the MUDAC, Musée de design et d’arts appliqués contemporaine, Lausanne, Switzerland, gives in her essay Heritage et Influences du Studio Glass a very interesting historical view on glass, its use in architecture and sculptures, industry, the glass artists and the use in modern and contemporary glass art and on the exposition Éclats! With good photo material, too. On the following pages Des Oeuvres you will find all works in good photos with captions of the works by Vincent BREED, Nicole CHESNEY, Václav CIGLER, Joan CROUS, Daniel DEPOUTOT, Anaïs DUNN, Bert FRIJNS, Josepha GASCH-MUCHE, Antoine LEPERLIER, Stanislav LIBENSKY, Jaroslavá BRYCHTOVÁ, Harvey LITTLETON, Ivan MAREŠ, Jaroslav MATOUŠ, François MORELLET, Keiko MUKAIDE, Matei NEGREANU, Jean-Michel OTHONIEL, Tony OURSLER, Zora PALOVÁ, Tom PATTI, Caroline PRISSE, Clifford RAINEY, Ivo ROZSYPAL, Gizela ŠABÓKOVÁ, Laurent SAKSIK, Renato SANTAROSSA, Aleš VAŠÍCEK, William VELASQUEZ, Dana ZÁMECNÍKOVÁ, Vladimir ZBYNOVSKY, Udo ZEMBOK and Jirina ŽERTOVÁ, followed by the text in German and English.

A good time document to study and warmly recommended!
