SEEKING TEACHING ARTIST: HOT GLASS BLOWING

Canberra Glassworks is seeking an experienced professional Hot Glass Blowing teacher to join our team of casual Teaching Artists.  They will regularly teach CIT Adult Short Courses in Hot Glass Blowing for Beginners, Next Step and Comprehensive, dependent on bookings for these courses.  Their services may also be requested from time to time for Hot Glass Blowing demonstrations.   They will work on a contract basis and report to the Education & Community Engagement Manager.  Further information about our Hot Glass Blowing courses is provided on our website http://www.canberraglassworks.com/education/adults/short-courses/glassblowing/  

Please note: New CIT Adult Short Courses can be proposed by current and prospective Teaching Artists at any time. 
The Hot Glass Blowing teacher should have more than 2 years teaching experience at a similar facility or institution.  They require excellent glass blowing skills, confidence, good communication, strong interpersonal skills and a desire to engage with and introduce the general public to glass blowing in our facility.

POSITION DETAILS:
Casual Hourly Rate: $70 per hour for teaching time and $32.50 per hour for additional set up or pack up (where required)
Hours: CIT Adult Short Courses are generally offered across a Saturday & Sunday monthly (Note: courses only proceed if minimum booking number is reached)
Start date: July 2017
