Caroline Swash is the grand daughter of Arts and Crafts artist Henry Payne and daughter of stained glass artist Edward Payne.  She began making her own windows in 1965 and has been building windows ever since. Her work can be seen in the USA (St Paul’s Church, Cleveland Ohio) and in the UK at St Barnabas, Dulwich, St Mary, Hemsby, St Mary, Brightlingsea, Salisbury Cathedral, Portsmouth Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral, St Bartholomew, Rogate, St George’s School, Harpenden, Multiple Sclerosis Society Headquarters and St Michael and All Angels, Illston on the Hill.

While Hon Secretary to the British Society of Master Glass Painters (1973-81) she founded their thriving ‘Newsletter’ and has continued writing ever since. Her enthusiasm for London’s architectural glass was enhanced by the needs of her students on the two year Post Graduate glass course at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (1985- 2011).

In 2000 she set up The Malvern Arts Press whose publications include ‘14 stained glass walks in London’ with Ginger Ferrell (2000), ‘Medical Science and Stained Glass’ (2002), ‘Glass @ Central’ by Hildegard Pax (2011) and now ‘The 100 Best Stained Glass Sites in London’ (2015).

I am quite sure that Caroline’s lecture will be absolutely fascinating and hugely enjoyable, so please do put this date in your diary. As places are limited I would advise that you book your seat. A booking form is attached and you can make your payment by bank transfer, credit card or cheque. Please do share this invitation with family and friends, all welcome whilst tickets are available.
