 "Shape Matters"
 This lecture will be about the special qualities of glass from a material scientist's perspective. Professor Michael J. Cima, David H. Koch Professor of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering.
 
 "Folding Glass"
 This presentation will cover work they have done in mixed media (paper and glass), experiments with folding glass, and the development of "Virtual Glass", an open-source software program for glass blowers. Professor Erik Demaine and Martin Demaine, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, MIT. Sponsored by the Glass Art Society.
 
 "James Carpenter Design Associates"
 Joe Welker of James Carpenter Design Associates will discuss past, present and future work being done by this ground-breaking firm whose work straddles the fields of art, architecture and engineering. Sponsored by the Schantz Galleries Contemporary Glass Stockbridge MA.
 
 "CAD and Rapid Prototyping for the Modern Glass Artist"
 Panelists will present their varied approaches to using CAD and rapid prototyping technologies, including an overview of available tools and associated software.  "Sky in a Bottle: A Space Message onto the Ethereal Glass Nanofoam Silica Aerogel"
 Ioannis Michaloudis will introduce his space glass nanomaterial, the process of making it and his aer ( ) sculptures. He will also present his project Bottled Sky. Sponsored by School of Design & Art and Humanities Faculty, Curtin University.
 
 "The Venini Legacy: A conversation with Laura and Alessandro De Santillana"
