The series begins with a real scoop, a look at the materials of the future in the virtual PROUD exhibition Moving Materials, from the 19th to the 23rd of May during Dutch Technology Week in Eindhoven.

In Moving Materials it is all about innovation of materials, new manufacturing methods and smart ideas that contribute to a better future. Examples are the laser-cut Italian shoes ‘Don’t Run – Beta’, the industrial rainwear-inspired ‘Weld Bags’ by Joris de Groot, and Sugru: rubber that can repair products.
Moving Materials is developed and designed by Material Sense within the scope of the European project PROUD, made partly possible by INTERREG IVB NWE.

Open Design Workshop, Thursday May 22
You can sign up for a workshop on Thursday May 22, which is hosted by De Factorij. Design and lasercut-technologies from Moving Materials are used to create new designs. ?You will have a laser cutter, a vinyl cutter and materials at your disposal, through which your design can be created on the spot.
If you have a laptop, please bring it with you. The designs are going to be made as vector files. If you do not have the right software, you can download the open source Inkscape.
